If you’ve had any related testing, such as X-rays, bring those with you or be prepared to share where the study took place. You should also be ready to discuss your medical history, including any medications you currently take. We also ask that you bring your insurance information, if applicable, to put on file.

We offer PRP injections, stem cell injections, and prolotherapy to patients who are appropriate candidates for these treatments. 

PRP injections use concentrated platelets from your blood to promote healing and reduce pain.

Stem cell injections use stem cells from your bone marrow to support tissue repair and regeneration.

Prolotherapy uses dextrose water to trick the body into thinking there is inflammation, which triggers a healing response. 

The risk is very low when a trained KCOA orthopedic physician administers orthobiologic treatments. As with any injection, there is a risk of infection, but sterile procedures prevent this. It’s possible to experience bleeding or bruising at the injection site, but it’s typically mild and resolves within days. 

Because we derive platelet-rich plasma and stem cells from the body’s own resources, the risk of an adverse reaction is minimal to none. The most considerable “risk” associated with these treatments is from a financial standpoint. In most circumstances, insurance will not cover regenerative medicine treatments.
