Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance Welcomes
Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon and Spine Surgeon to Growing Practice
LEAWOOD, Kan. (Oct. 2, 2026) — Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance (KCOA) is proud to announce the addition of two surgeons to its practice, Dr. Brant Ansley and Dr. Brock Knapp. Both surgeons are valuable and critical additions to the regional medical community, offering specialized expertise in their respective fields.
Dr. Ansley is one of only a handful of dedicated and specialized orthopedic spine surgeons serving metropolitan Kansas City, filling a critical role in providing advanced surgical and nonoperative treatments for a wide variety of conditions affecting the back and spine. He will be the second orthopedic spine surgeon on staff at KCOA, partnering directly with Dr. Theodore Koreckij to elevate the practice’s capacity to deliver comprehensive, leading-edge spinal care to patients across the Midwest.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Ansley to our practice,” said Shawna Haggerty, Chief Operating Officer at KCOA. “His commitment to compassionate, high-quality care aligns perfectly with our mission to serve the Kansas City region. Our patients will benefit greatly from his expertise and warm approach to medicine.”
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ansley is an active contributor to literature that advances orthopedic science. His recent clinical research—conducted alongside Dr. Koreckij and other esteemed colleagues—includes co-authoring peer-reviewed studies in the International Journal of Spine Surgery and Spine. His research focuses on critical patient safety outcomes, including implant surface technologies to prevent surgical site infections and evaluating the long-term safety of novel spine devices.
Dr. Knapp is a dedicated orthopedic sports medicine surgeon, specializing in advanced surgical and nonoperative treatments for a wide variety of athletic injuries and conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. Dr. Knapp brings specialized expertise in athletic injury prevention, conditioning, and rehabilitation. He joins KCOA to elevate the practice’s capacity to deliver comprehensive, leading-edge sports medicine care to patients across the Midwest.
“We are incredibly excited to add Dr. Knapp to our roster of talented providers,” said Shawna Haggerty, Chief Operating Officer at KCOA. “His dedication to personalized, top-tier care is a seamless fit with our goal of serving the greater Kansas City area. We know our patients will appreciate his specialized skill set and his welcoming, patient-first philosophy.”
When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Knapp is actively engaged in writing and publishing work that shapes the future of the specialty. His recent clinical research—co-authoring peer-reviewed studies in publications such as Current Reviews in Musculoskeletal Medicine and The Iowa Orthopaedic Journal—focuses on critical sports medicine outcomes, including return-to-play protocols for athletic populations following knee cartilage transplantation and complication predictions following fracture repairs.
