More About Dr. Rasmussen

A longtime resident of Kansas City, Dr. Mark has deep roots in our community. Dr. Mark graduated first in his class of 690 students at Shawnee Mission South High School.

He continued his education at the University of Kansas where he graduated with a degree in cellular biology. He went on to graduate in the top ten of his medical school class at K.U. in 1988. Dr. Mark completed his 5 year residency at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota where he was awarded the prestigious Joseph Janes award for academic and surgical excellence.

Upon completion of his residency he completed a sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship in Richmond, Virginia, where he also worked as an assistant physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dr. Mark has been named to the list of Super Doctors for Orthopaedic Surgeons since its inception with the KC Magazine in 2007. He was voted top orthopaedist for the Super Doctors in 2007. Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Mark is currently accepting new patients including workers’ compensation.
