More About Jacob Stueve

Dr. Stueve grew up in the Northland area of Kansas City and graduated from North Kansas City High School.

He attended the University of Missouri on a football scholarship and earned Academic All-American Honors. During his playing career, he was exposed to orthopedic shoulder care and surgery for the first time as a patient. Through the experience of being injured multiple times and progressing from surgery to return to playing Division I collegiate football, he began to consider a medical career in orthopedics.

These experiences motivated Dr. Stueve’s career aspirations as he completed medical school at the University of Missouri-Columbia and began his residency at The Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  His interest in shoulder surgery was fostered during residency and he decided to complete an additional year of specialty training as a fellow in shoulder and elbow surgery with The Rothman Institute.

Following his training in the Northeast, Dr. Stueve was ready to return home to Kansas City.  He accepted a position with Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Consultants and began specializing in orthopedic care of the shoulder.  In addition to treating all manners of shoulder ailments, he spends time as faculty instructing other surgeons in advanced techniques of shoulder surgery.  His primary passion continues to be delivering excellent orthopedic shoulder care. He is excited about the opportunity Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance presents to further enhance orthopedic care in Kansas City, and specifically for his shoulder specialty.

Outside of Work

Enjoys spending time with family-wife and three boys.  Dr. Stueve is  actively engaged in spectating and coaching their numerous sports activities. Pursues outdoor activities-sports, watersports, snowboarding, golf, and fast motorized vehicles along with travel involving the above. Cheers on the Chiefs, Sporting KC, Royals, and Mizzou.
