Dr. Gurba, who specializes in joint replacement for degenerative hip and knee conditions, earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City/Truman Medical Center before completing a Joint Reconstruction fellowship at the Pennsylvania Hospital/Rothman Institute in Philadelphia. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Gurba joins Drs. Brian J. Divelbiss, James P. Halloran, Steven T. Joyce, Theodore D. Koreckij, and Mark J. Winston, also of Dickson-Diveley Orthopaedics, as recipients of Vitals awards for 2018.

The Patients’ Choice Award reflects the difference a particular physician has made in the lives of his or her patients. Vitals bestows the honor to physicians who have received near perfect scores, as voted by patients.

The On-Time and Promptness Award recognizes doctors with consistent high ratings for timeliness of appointments. Vitals grants the honor based on a physician’s overall and promptness scores.

Vitals reported that the national wait time to see a physician runs 18 minutes, 13 seconds in 2018. Vitals On-Time Doctors, meanwhile, averaged a wait time of 13 minutes, 17 seconds.

Each year, Vitals receives millions of patient-reported ratings on various components of their doctor’s care.
