Lowry Jones, Jr., M.D., has won an award for his promptness–and it came from those whose opinions matter most on this issue, his patients.
Vitals named Dr. Jones as a winner of its 2014 On-Time Doctor Award.
The award recognizes doctors who manage their clock effectively. Based on the reviews collected last year, Dr. Jones’ patients reported shorter- than average wait times at his office.
Vitals reported that the national wait time to see a physician runs 20 minutes, 16 seconds in 2014.
Vitals On-Time Doctors, meanwhile, averaged a wait time of 11 minutes.
“We’re proud to recognize physicians who run their practice effectively and efficiently,” said Mitch Rothschild, CEO of Vitals. “Wait time is an increasingly important factor that impacts patients’ choice, and ultimately their relationship with their physician.”
He said no one wants to wait long.
Rothschild said 10 percent of people in a recent Vitals’ study cited long waits as reason enough to find a new doctor.
