Dickson-Diveley Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Consultants (OSMC) have announced a merging of the two practices, effective March 1, 2021. Leaders at both organizations say this development will expand patient access to orthopaedic care of the highest quality.
“This merger, which has been a few years in the making, is something we’re extremely excited about,” said Brian Divelbiss, MD, president of Dickson-Diveley. “The unification of our practices will allow us to bring together our combined expertise and provide an unmatched offering of orthopaedic services to patients across the Kansas City metro area. We have tremendous respect for the team at OSMC and are looking forward to leveraging our resources to raise the expectations for orthopaedic healthcare in this community.”
Dr. Jacob Stueve from OSMC agreed: “Bringing together the best resources for orthopaedic care has always been our goal as a practice. The opportunity to work even more closely with the professionals at Dickson-Diveley is truly game-changing. This merger is a huge step, but only a first step, to expanding the orthopaedic landscape in Kansas City for the betterment of patients. We can’t wait to get started and see what the future holds.”
The combined practice will share existing locations at the Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute, located at 3651 College Boulevard in Leawood, as well the Physician’s Medical Plaza Building on the campus of Saint Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza (4320 Wornall Road). The newly formed group will comprise 25 physicians and more than 120 employees and support staff, making it the largest independently owned orthopaedic practice in Kansas City.
