Apex Orthopedics Statement on COVID-19

Apex Family,

We are all in a scary time right now and we want you to know that we are still here for you. Even with the “Stay At Home” order in place, life still happens. You still may fall off a ladder during a home improvement project or your kids may fall off the trampoline. We will still be operational with X-Ray, casting and additional testing as needed.  We have extended our walk-in hours from 8AM-4PM to allow you more time to come in at see us and as always, we have physicians on call at all hours you can reach via our office phone number. This will allow you to stay away from overcrowded Urgent Care and Emergency Rooms. We want to allow those who are on the front lines of combatting COVID-19 to have every resource available, so please come to us first.

Fractures and other acute injuries will still be able to have surgery if urgent at outpatient surgery centers so we can minimize the risk of exposure. We are taking all necessary precautions to make sure that you are safe and well cared for. We will be checking temperatures, ensuring there are no COVID symptoms, limiting patients in the waiting room and trying to get providers into see you quickly. We also ask you to minimize the number of people you bring to necessary appointments. If possible, come by yourself, or if you’re accompanying a loved one or need assistance, please bring only one other guest. Our entire team is committed to preventing the spread of infection and will sanitize as efficiently as possible between every visit.

As an additional measurement, we are up and running with Doximity for TeleMedicine appointments, meaning you can see your doctor without leaving your home. Our phone lines are open at 913-642-0200 to answer any questions you have, to make appointments or discuss care plans.

We know this pandemic has changed the landscape of our lives and drastically altered “normal.” To be honest, it is scary and uncertain for all of us, but we will get through it together. We will do everything in our power to work with every single one of our patients on rescheduling and will accommodate as best we can. Our priority is and will always be your safety, health and well-being. Thank you for your support and being a part of our Apex Family—we cannot wait to see you again.

We ask if are experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills or muscle aches to call us prior to coming in and if possible, we will see you via TeleMedicine or will reschedule you to a later date.
