KCOA COVID-19 UPDATE

We can all see it, the light at the end of the tunnel. It has been a long hard year and more than ever, we at KCOA, are grateful for our wonderful staff and amazing patients. We wanted to give you a quick update about what we have been doing around the clinic and in the hospital to continue to make safety our first priority.

Vaccine and Our Clinic

Firstly, our entire staff has been offered the vaccine and the majority have completed both rounds! HALLELUJAH! Even so, we will continue to wear our masks out of an abundance of caution. Our patients will continue to be required to wear masks until the CDC advises otherwise. We have continued to diligently sanitize patient rooms in between visits and will continue to enforce social distancing throughout clinic whenever possible.

Guest Policies

We will continue to enforce the patient-guest policy, meaning patients should come to their appointments alone but are more than welcome to call a significant other or important person and put them on speaker phone throughout the appointment. This policy does not pertain to children, who should be accompanied by their parents, patients coming from facilities, or post-op patients requiring extra help. Of course, there are exceptions to the rules and if you have questions, we encourage you to call our office and discuss your specific case. The policy in place is there to limit the people coming in and out of the office and reduce exposure.

Surgery Policies

In regards to surgery, we will continue to pre-operatively test patients for COVID at all our facilities. We have the utmost trust in our surgery centers and hospitals and know they are doing everything in their power to ensure safety and cleanliness. In hospitals, all patients are admitted to a post-op floor, which is a separate floor and air ventilation system from COVID wards. If you do not feel comfortable proceeding with surgery at this time, we totally get it! There are a multitude of conservative options we can use in clinic to help abate your pain.

We look forward to seeing your smiling faces soon, mask-free, until then stay safe and healthy!
